Matcha 'Nice' Cream
‘Nice’ cream is the simplest and healthiest version of ice-cream you might ever make :) so delicious, so easy, so versatile, the basic recipe only use two ingredients! You can add protein powder, or nut butter, cacao, berries – you name it! Next time you have some overripe bananas that you might otherwise throw away, peel them and chop then into chunks for freezing for next time you crave a sweet snack. Just make sure that if you have quite a weak blender then use the pulse function so you don’t break the blade!
I love matcha green tea for all its wonderful anti-oxidant properties. Famed for its ability to boost energy, speed up your metabolism, improve concentration, detoxify your body and fortify your immune system, it makes a scrummy superfood alternative to coffee for those caffeine addicts out there (myself included!). It can be quite expensive to buy, depending on the concentration of green tea, but I find that even the ‘weaker’ regular brands of green tea powder do the same job and taste just as good!
Ingredients:
(makes 2-3 servings)
2 large frozen bananas (cut in to chunks)
1tsp matcha powder
2 tbsp milk or non-dairy milk
Method:
1. In a glass, stir the matcha powder with the milk until it has been absorbed.
2. Place the bananas in a blender and pulse until quite creamy.
3. Next add the matcha powder and milk and add to the mixture, a tsp at a time until you have achieved your desired consistency.
4. Scoop out of the blender with a spoon and serve straight away. Sprinkle with some cacao nibs, nuts, fruit – or even granola if eating for breakfast.
