Dragon Fruit & Mango Smoothie
Smoothies
Serves 1
Smoothies are the easiest breakfast ever – just chuck all the ingredients in a blender and whizz away! I often freeze my fruit too (first cutting it up into small pieces so it’s easier to break up) so I don’t even have to spend time chopping. Another great thing about smoothies is that it’s a brilliant way of sneaking vegetables into breakfast – raw spinach can be added to berry smoothies or chocolatey smoothies, and you can’t even taste it! I love the combination of oats, almond milk, banana, blueberries, peanut butter and spinach.
Basic breakfast smoothie recipe:
1 banana – fresh or frozen
1 cup of water or milk, coconut water or freshly-squeezed juice such as apple juice
½ cup of oats (optional)
1tsp of chia seeds
Possible additions to the mixture:
A handful of fresh spinach
½ an avocado
1 kiwi
½ cup of chopped mango / papaya / pineapple
½ cup strawberries / raspberries / blueberries
1 tbsp of peanut butter / almond butter
½ cup of Greek yogurt
1 tsp of cacao powder
1 tsp of honey
a handful of dates
1 tsp of cinnamon
Method:
1. Place all the desired ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
2. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
